PRF: Natural Healing from Your Own Blood

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) accelerates bone augmentation, implant healing and periodontal regeneration. We prepare PRF directly in the OR from your own blood – without additives, 100% biocompatible.

PRF is not a supplement, but a fixed component of our surgical workflow. We use it for implants, sinus lifts, bone augmentation and periodontal surgery to improve healing and reduce complications.

  • Preparation directly in the OR from 20–30 ml of your own blood
  • 100% biocompatible: no additives, no allergy risk
  • Integrated into every surgical workflow at PRINZIDENT

Biological Boost

Why PRF accelerates healing so effectively

PRF combines platelets, white blood cells and a dense fibrin matrix. This structure acts like a biological bandage: It seals wounds, stops bleeding, releases growth factors in a controlled manner and attracts stem cell precursors. This makes bone and soft tissue regenerate significantly faster.

Unlike PRP, PRF contains no anticoagulants. Natural coagulation is preserved, which enables a slower but more sustainable release of growth factors. Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects are also documented, ideal for periodontitis and peri-implant therapies.

Blood Draw & Centrifugation

We draw 20–30 ml of blood, directly in the OR. A specially calibrated centrifuge separates fibrin-rich plasma in precisely tuned cycles, without additives and in a sterile OR setting.

Processing & Shaping

Depending on the procedure, we form membranes, plugs or PRF gel. The matrix contains growth factors, leukocytes and stem cell precursors, ideal conditions for regeneration.

Application in the Surgical Area

For implants, PRF stabilizes the interface design, for bone augmentation the membrane covers the graft. In soft tissue procedures, PRF can be combined with collagen.

Controlled Healing

Growth factors are released over 7–14 days. We document the course and use PRF again in follow-up appointments if needed, e.g., for sinus lift or peri-implant corrections.

How PRF protects implants, bone and soft tissue

PRF is not an add-on, but a fixed component of our surgical planning.

Implantology: We place PRF membranes around each implant bed. They seal the soft tissue seamlessly, stabilize the coagulum and deliver growth factors directly to the thread, ideal for immediate implants and aesthetic regions.

Bone Augmentation: For sinus lift, horizontal or vertical augmentations, we combine PRF with autogenous bone or allogeneic materials. The membrane holds particles in place and accelerates neovascularization.

Periodontal Surgery & Recession Coverage: In combination with connective tissue grafts, PRF minimizes postoperative pain and improves tissue thickness, measurable in better recession results.

Wisdom Tooth Surgery & Wound Healing: PRF prevents alveolitis, reduces swelling and ensures a more pleasant postoperative feeling, especially for complex, impacted teeth.

Implantology

Fixed teeth thanks to biological support

In implantology, PRF is standard. It protects soft tissue, improves bone contact and allows us to implement immediate restorations with high safety.

Periodontology

Inflammation-free with regenerative periodontology

PRF stabilizes periodontal operations, reduces postoperative complaints and supports regeneration of the attachment apparatus.

What patients want to know about PRF

We answer the most common questions from consultations.

Is PRF the same as PRP?
No. PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) contains, in addition to platelets, also leukocytes and a fibrin-rich matrix. It acts like a biological scaffold and releases growth factors longer than PRP.
How much blood is drawn?
We draw 20–30 ml, directly in the OR. This corresponds to about two tablespoons and is completely harmless.
Can PRF be used for inflammation?
Yes. In peri-implant defects or periodontitis, PRF combines its antimicrobial properties with regenerative effects. We use it in combination with enamel matrix proteins or bone substitute materials.
How often must PRF be applied?
Usually one session per procedure is sufficient. For extensive regenerations or in smokers, we reapply PRF in the first weeks to renew the matrix.
